The Institute for Learning (IfL) is the professional body for teachers, trainers, tutors and student teachers in the learning and skills sector.
By listening to and supporting the needs of our members, we continue to raise the status of teaching practitioners
across the sector.
We celebrate the diverse nature of the sector, including adult and community learning, emergency and public services, further education colleges, Ministry of Defence
and armed services, the voluntary sector, and offender and
work-based learning.
We are run by an Advisory Council, with representatives elected from
the membership. The Advisory Council directs the strategic policy of the Institute, to ensure that is run for members by members.
