Learning at the heart of organisational change

Chris Bones, Professor of Creativity and Leadership, Manchester Business School

According to Chris Bones, former group organization effectiveness and development director at Cadbury Schweppes, the purpose and provision of learning have become separated. In this provocative keynote, Chris will ask tough questions of both us as a learning community, and the bodies we work for. With organisations having to change rapidly today, are executives only paying lip service to the crucial role of learning? Are we choosing technologies for what they can do rather how they can support corporate goals? And as learning professionals, are we building the learning organisation of the future or just providing the same old courses?

This keynote will begin a six-month research programme carried out by Chris and Manchester Business School in conjunction with the Learning and Skills Group, with results presented back at the January 2012 Learning Technologies Conference.
