Hasan Adnan

Head of Learning, Global Leadership & Talent Team, British American Tobacco

Hasan studied MBA at Maastricht School of Management and then he joined British American Tobacco in Pakistan as a Management Trainee in September 1996 with some year prior experience in Sales & HR. On graduation from Management Trainee programme, he worked on a number of HR roles along with driving a major change management programme in the organisation for three years that delivered significant Business results and resulted in turnaround of the organisation.

He moved to Middle East based in Dubai end of 2002 and worked as a part of the team responsible for market entry and establishing a sustainable Business in Iran. He later moved to Iran as Head of HR and left a strong organisation behind when he moved back to Pakistan as HR Director beginning of 2005.

As a part of the top team in Pakistan he has not only built and aligned a capable HR team that is focussed on the Business delivery but also driven a Strategic Leadership Agenda & 10 year Business Strategy for the organisation. In 2007, he took over the role of Area Head of HR for South Asia and played a critical role in the planning and integration of three independent markets into one Business Unit as a part of the regional reorganisation.
 
He moved to BAT Head Office in London beginning of 2008 to drive global talent initiatives on developing senior business leaders which included development of the Global Leadership Capabilities framework, career development planning approach and General Manager Transition Programme. He then led the Learning Transformation globally streamlining the Global Development Portfolio and implementing a single Learning Management Sytem.

Outside of work, Hasan enjoys travel with his wife and two children. Hasan was a keen sports man and now his passion for sports is limited to playing Golf and Cricket occasionally.
