Most innovative new learning technologies Gold Winner 2026 - Efekta Education Group

Headquartered in the UK, Efekta Education is an innovative AI Tech company with the mission to make high-quality education universally available at large scale by combining cutting-edge AI technology with proven pedagogical expertise. Making personal teaching and learning affordable and accessible in public and private school systems, universities and global companies.

Efekta supercharges both teachers and students with its AI-powered curriculum, AI Personal Teaching Assistant for Students, and Classroom AI tools for Teachers. Efekta’s technology is based on data and experience from the world’s largest online English school and 60 years of leadership in the field of immersive education.

Efekta is an EF (Education First) company. EF is the world’s largest private education company.

Education today faces deep inequities in access, a global shortage of qualified teachers, and outdated systems that leave millions unprepared for a rapidly changing, technology-driven world. Efekta provides the solution to these problems by operating the leading learning platform for immersive, AI-powered learning at large scale.

Starting with the world's biggest education opportunity – English language learning – Efekta has taken EF's experience and reach to create transformative educational technology. English has the power to transform lives and careers, opening doors to better job opportunities and global connections. When taught at scale, it can uplift entire economies.

Current Scale:

  • Over 4.5 million active students
  • 25,000 teachers
  • 3,000 corporate clients
  • Several governments globally
  • 24 million people taught to date

How Efekta Enhances Learning Design and Delivery

It’s impossible to provide 1:1 tutoring at global scale with traditional educational approaches.

Research proves 1:1 tutoring dramatically outperforms group instruction (Benjamin Bloom's two-sigma problem), yet the high cost and global shortage of 20 million English teachers makes personalized instruction impossible at large scale. Only 5% of 2 billion English learners achieve fluency, creating a massive educational gap that affects hundreds of millions of students worldwide.

However, it is difficult to replicate individualized tutoring at large scale because of the high costs associated and the shortage of qualified teachers seen around the world. As a result, only a small fraction of students today can afford the benefit of personal tutoring, and teachers don't get enough quality time to focus on their students' individual needs.

True mastery of skills like language learning comes through practice. Just as you can't learn to swim by reading about it, educational concepts only stick when actively applied. This is because one-on-one tutoring caters to individual learner needs: allowing students to learn at their own pace, providing instant feedback, focusing on individual learning gaps, and giving increased motivation and support.

The solution - Efekta’s groundbreaking AI Learning Platform solves this challenge by offering 1:1 tutoring at global scale

Efekta addresses this challenge by offering an AI-powered language learning platform designed to work alongside human teachers, delivering personal tutoring, fluency skill practice, and teacher assistance at large scale – enabling the upskilling and teaching of millions of learners simultaneously, anytime and anywhere. Efekta makes personal tuition accessible to every student around the world at very affordable cost.

Efekta’s expertise in innovative language education and commitment to robust data security and delivery means we can provide seamless integration into school environments at unparalleled scale. The breakthrough lies in embedding AI technology within a proprietary English language teaching curriculum through two interconnected components that work together to transform educational delivery – Addi, an AI Teaching Assistant and Classroom AI.

1. Addi – an AI Teaching Assistant: a constantly available, adaptive learning companion for every student.

It provides one-to-one support through immersive simulations, personalized practice, and instant feedback – and dynamically adapts to individual learning styles, needs, and progress levels. Addi brings the benefits of a personal teaching assistant, improving learning for millions of students simultaneously, at a fraction of the cost of human-only instruction. It does not replace teachers, but complements them, ensuring that students receive individualized support. Every student gets a personal learning journey; adaptive, responsive, and patient - while teachers focus on motivation and higher-value teaching. In other words, Efekta is making the benefits of one-to-one tutoring available to every learner.

2. Classroom AI – an Agentic AI System:  Measuring learning impact by continuously tracking nearly 100 different variables - providing assessment of a student’s English proficiency hyper-accurately in real time and automating administrative tasks, freeing teachers to focus on high-value interactions.

Unlike traditional assessments based on one-off tests, Classroom AI uses longitudinal data — capturing student performance from both digital self-study and live teacher interactions. This allows for real-time personalization at an individual student level, while also giving teachers actionable insights across entire classrooms and schools. It also allows to see exactly how each student is progressing, adapt the experience dynamically, and personalize the support provided by the classroom teacher and Addi. As a result, students learn more effectively and teachers are freed up to focus on those students needing additional support, before they fail.

In summary, the Efekta platform's interactive and dynamic approach offers real-time feedback, immersive simulations for speaking practice, and practical skill development such as AI-corrected writing activities. This ensures students not only acquire knowledge but also gain the ability to apply it effectively in real-world contexts.

Proven results and demonstrating real impact with measurable outcomes

Brazil

Efekta's partnership with state governments across Latin America demonstrates educational technology's potential for systemic change. In Paraná, Brazil, 750,000 students using the platform have consistently outperformed their peers, achieving a remarkable 32.5% improvement in state-run English proficiency test results in only two years.

“The results speak for themselves, which makes us feel that we are on the right path to bring quality education to students in Paraná.”, Roni Madeira, Secretary of Education of the state of Paraná.

“For the first time in the history of our State, children leave school really knowing English. This is the first time it has ever happened in our history, thanks to the program with EF.” Renato Feder, the Sao Paolo State Secretary for Education.

Rwanda

In Rwanda, Efekta collaborated with the Rwanda Development Board and Mastercard Foundation to upskill over 30,000 young people across Rwanda's priority sectors – Higher Education, Tourism and Hospitality, and Global Business Services. Graduates of the program exceeded the target of advancing one full CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level in 12 months.

The number of young people reaching B2 level (national target and international benchmark) more than tripled, unlocking growth opportunities and career mobility. 66% of participants got a new job, started a business or earned a promotion because of the program.

What’s Next

Efekta’s impact is not theoretical - it is proven at system level across governments, schools, and corporations globally, with a commitment to systematically democratize quality education and a roadmap of continuous innovation. Ensuring that personalization remains at the heart of learning while expanding into new domains and geographies, planning to add 100 million students within the next 2-3 years. Efekta’s technology is designed to extend from English across subjects into mathematics, science, and other languages, creating solutions addressing multiple educational gaps simultaneously.
