From Europe's leading workplace learning event in the spring to our glittering awards ceremony, this year has been defined by collaboration in the industry, celebration amongst the community, and our ongoing commitment to learning and development.

Learning Technologies London | April: L&D thriving in a time of change

On 23-24 April, our leading conference and exhibition returned to Excel London for another fantastic year, bringing the brightest minds and enthusiastic community in workplace learning together. Co-located with HR Technologies UK, the event attracted over 15,000 L&D and HR professionals, with the buzz being felt online as well as in-person – we didn't expect to reach 10,000 LinkedIn followers on Day 2!

The conference brought together 1,000 delegates and more than 80 expert speakers and facilitators to address the most pressing challenges facing the workplace learning and development (L&D) community. Over two days at Excel London, sessions focused on key themes such as AI, skills development, personal growth, and data-driven decision-making. Our two opening addresses were powered by thought leaders David Kelly and Dani Johnson exploring the state of our industry on Day 1, and Daniel J Hulme diving deep into the topic on everyone's minds, AI, on Day 2. The conference was opened by Chair Donald H Taylor, and the two days explored the evolving role of AI in L&D and emphasised the human aspects of learning – how AI can augment rather than replace people’s contributions. Delegates relished in the breadth of insights, meaningful networking opportunities, and forward-looking perspectives that helped them plan for the future of their work.

The bustling exhibition floor was renowned for its lively and engaging atmosphere, showcasing more than 200 cutting-edge technology providers. The interactive stands featuring everything from live robots and games, and with over 200 free seminars running every 45 minutes, attendees were spoilt for choice when it came to things to do. Topics in the seminars ranged from engaging Gen Z  learners to bite-sized video learning, and insights from major tech companies, including Google. Our brand new LT Awards Theatre highlighted award-winning projects from our prestigious awards ceremony, offering behind-the-scenes insights into standout innovations, from AI-driven role-playing games to specialised e-Learning solutions.

Learning Technologies Autumn Forum | October: Navigating the future of L&D

When autumn rolled around, the spotlight was cast on our unique follow-up to Europe's leading workplace learning event. This year's Learning Technologies Autumn Forum theme was: How do we use emerging technologies for learning effectively? Over four days spread across two weeks, this online event welcomed our online community together for a deeper dive into the key themes discussed at the event in April. 

The interactive sessions sparked discussion and inspired new ideas that the audience can actively implement in their organisation's L&D landscape. You can watch all the sessions here to revisit all the discussions or catch up on what you missed!

 

Learning Technologies Awards | November: Success taking centre stage

Our last event of the year took place on 12 November, and what an event it was! The annual Learning Technologies Awards took place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in the heart of London, attracting guests to a prestigious evening of celebration and recognition in L&D. 

We pride ourselves on this gala evening's sparkling drinks reception, delicious 3-course dinner, and live entertainment, which gives the L&D community the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night off! Of course, that isn't all. The moment everyone anticipates is when the winners are revealed, showcasing the hard work and success in our industry. From 'Best use of AI' to 'Learning technologies team of the year', our 20+ categories measure the scale and influence the workplace learning world truly possesses.

Learning Technologies Webinars: The online space for L&D professionals

Our webinars carry the ever-evolving discussions of the L&D landscape. This ongoing series attracts people across the globe to join interactive sessions where everyone's voice is equally important. Webinar host Andrew Jacobs encourages discussion and debate within the audience, as our engaging speakers present everything from cutting-edge tech to inspiring case studies and the latest research.

We are proud to say that we've run over 70 webinars in just the past couple of years! This series is such an important aspect of Learning Technologies, as it's a constant resource for our community – wherever you are in the world. This year's topics included how Gen Z and TikTok are affecting learning engagement, how L&D can drive business impact, and how immersive training can enhance workplace safety. For the first time in LT Webinar history, we ran a special session that focused on the Learning Technologies Awards – giving attendees an exclusive behind-the-scenes on what makes an award-winning entry.
