About the Conference

The Learning Technologies Conference is a two-day, separately ticketed event that runs alongside the Learning Technologies Exhibition at Excel London. While the exhibition is free and open to all, the conference is a curated experience designed for learning leaders and practitioners seeking inspiration, practical takeaways, and meaningful conversations.

The conference typically welcomes around 900 attendees from across the globe, with a wide mix of learning and development leaders, managers, and experienced practitioners.

What We Look for in Speakers

Our speakers are selected not just for what they know - but for how their insights can help others in the room grow. We’re looking for client speakers who bring:

  • Real-world experience as an L&D practitioner or learning leader
  • Comfort and confidence in front of an audience (some public speaking experience is preferred)
  • A compelling story, lesson, or perspective that attendees can learn from and apply in their own work
  • A spirit of openness and collaboration, eager to share, reflect, and engage

Topics We’re Exploring in 2027

Below are some of the key topics we’re exploring at the 2027 conference. These reflect emerging trends and challenges in workplace learning:

  • Adaptive learning
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Business-aligned learning
  • Change management
  • Coaching
  • Collaborative/social learning
  • Compliance
  • Content design
  • Data and analytics
  • Impact and evaluation
  • Mixed realities (AR/VR)
  • Performance support
  • Personalisation
  • Self-directed learning

...and any other compelling, timely story with valuable takeaways.

In particular, we value real-world stories that speak to:

  • The business problem being addressed
  • Challenges and barriers that were overcome
  • How success was measured
  • Lessons others in L&D can apply

A case study about an LMS rollout, for example, isn’t compelling on its own. What makes it valuable is the story behind it: challenges with buy-in, change management, culture, or technology that others can learn from.

The key question to ask yourself: How can this speaker’s story be useful to other L&D professionals?

What happens next

Here’s what happens after you submit this form:

We’ll be reaching out to every proposed speaker to schedule a short, informal conversation with our programme co-chair, David Kelly. If you’ve asked to be included in that conversation, we’ll follow up with you to coordinate timing. You can expect that outreach to happen by the end of November 2026.

We’ll let you and your client know if there’s an opportunity to participate in the programme by mid-December 2026, and we’ll keep your speaker in mind beyond that if any new opportunities emerge later in the planning cycle.

If you have any questions before then, feel free to contact your Learning Technologies account manager or Lauren Smith - l.smith@closerstillmedia.com.

Thanks again. We’re excited about what’s ahead for Learning Technologies 2027, and grateful for your support in helping us build something impactful.
