T3S4 - Developing L&D
Growing your L&D team's capabilities: The big power of little experiments
Laura Overton
Shannon Tipton
In the middle of 2020 we asked 32 practitioners / thinkers from around the globe ‘How can L&D emerge stronger from the pandemic?’ and that was the start of an 18 month journey of global investigation and exploration. It turns out that the ability to experiment, try something new, fail fast and learn faster has been a characteristic of high performing learning teams throughout the disruption.
Experiments in L&D are under-utilised and misunderstood. What we found is that the right experiments at the right time work. They release creativity and empower innovation through exploration.
In this interactive session, participants are invited to experiment with us. Together we will explore how well constructed L&D experiments can challenge our thinking and unlock new opportunities for supporting business value. Join us to discover:
- The anatomy of a great experiment
- How to take evidence informed risks
- Who to involve and when
- Why a pilot is not an experiment
- Tactics that work (and don’t work)
