Submit an entry

You can send your submissions to us anytime up until 16.59 BST on 31 July 2018. There are two ways for you to send us your submission:

  • Upload your files directly to your secure folder.

We will email you a secure link after you register your entries.  This URL is unique to your entries and will not be seen by anyone else. You can upload your submission material directly from your device to our account.
  • Email the files to us at

Please note that if your files exceed 8MB then we strongly advise you to use the direct upload method to ensure the submission is not rejected due to its file size.

Please ensure you have read the full terms and conditions before making your submission. By making a submission to the Learning Technologies Awards, you agree to adhere to, and are bound by, these terms and conditions.

The aim of your submission is to get on the shortlist and move to the next stage of the competition.  Therefore, putting in the groundwork at this stage will more than likely pay dividends further along the line.

Perhaps the most important thing you can do is to read and understand the judging criteria for your chosen categories, and make sure you cover these in your submission.  Keep in mind that what's clear to you might not be as clear to the judges, so it's important that you demonstrate exactly how your submission meets each criteria point.  You should also ensure you've read our terms and conditions.

We don't have a submission form so how you structure your entry, and what you include, is very much up to you.  Most people use Word or PDF but you can use whatever format or programme you wish. Do bear in mind that judges may not have access to all devices and operating systems so you should ensure your submission is viewable on laptops, desktops and all mobile devices.  This includes any videos or additional media.

Further information

word count

Submissions must not exceed 2,000 words.

This word count includes any appendices, PowerPoint slides or other accompanying, written information.

The word count does not include the 100 word Executive Summary or any explanatory text provided for images. Any explanatory text must be kept to a minimum.

Submissions exceeding the maximum word count by more than 10% (2,200 words) will not be judged and will not, therefore, be shortlisted.

executive summary

Each submission should be accompanied by an Executive Summary of no more than 100 words.

This will be published on our website alongside your entry name, if your entry is shortlisted.  It may be used later in other collateral connected with the Learning Technologies Awards.

The Executive Summary should not contain any confidential information as it will be published without further consultation with you.

additional media

You may submit additional media to accompany your submission if you feel it will add value.

Please refer to the terms and conditions for full instructions if you wish to include this.

We will acknowledge every submission by email as soon as possible.

Please be aware that we receive an extremely high volume of submissions as the deadline nears so acknowledgements may be slightly delayed for this reason.

Don't panic! If you haven't received any acknowledgement from us by 11.00 am BST on 3 August 2018 then please contact us on +44 (0) 118 380 0350.
