Submit an entry

You can send your submissions to us anytime up until 16.59 BST on 31 July 2019.

The easiest way to send us your submission files is to use your unique entry code, which will be sent to you soon after the closing date for entry registrations (28 June).  The code will be unique to your entry and ensures that your files will not be seen by anyone else. You will receive a different code for each entry. You can use the code to upload your submission materials directly from your device to our account.

If you cannot use the unique entry code, then we will also accept submissions by email to katev@learningtechnologiesawards.co.uk.  Alternatively, you can use other file sharing applications. Please note that if you use either alternative method then you do so at your own risk.

If your files are large then we strongly recommend that you use the direct upload method to ensure the submission is not rejected due to its file size.

We will acknowledge all submissions by email as soon as possible.

Please ensure you have read the full terms and conditions before making your submission. By participating in the Learning Technologies Awards, you agree to adhere to, and are bound by these terms and conditions.

Structure

The aim of your submission is to get on the shortlist and move to the next stage of the competition.  Therefore, putting in the groundwork at this stage will more than likely pay dividends further along the line.

Perhaps the most important thing you can do is to read and understand the judging criteria for your chosen categories, and make sure you cover these in your submission.  Keep in mind that what's clear to you might not be as clear to the judges, so it's important that you demonstrate exactly how your submission meets each criteria point.  You should also ensure you've read our terms and conditions.

We do not have a formal submission form so how you structure your entry, and what you include, is very much up to you.  Most people use Word or PDF but you can use whatever format or programme you wish. Do bear in mind that judges may not have access to all devices and operating systems so you should ensure your submission is accessible on a range of devices.  This includes any videos or additional media.

Further information

word count

There is a a maximum word limit of 2,000 words for all submissions. This word limit also includes:

  • appendices,
  • testimonials,
  • slides in any format

The word count does not include the 100 word Executive Summary or any text provided as explanatory information for images.  Any explanatory text must be kept to a minimum.

Submissions exceeding the maximum word limit by more than 10% (2,200 words) will not be judged and therefore not considered for shortlisting.

executive summary

Submissions should be accompanied by an Executive Summary, the maximum length of which is 100 words. The summary should be submitted in a separate document to the main submission.

The summary will be published on our website, if your entry is shortlisted, and will therefore enter the public domain. It may be used later in other collateral connected with this awards scheme.

The summary will be published without prior consultation with you and it is your responsibility to ensure that the summary does not include any confidential or other information that you do not wish to see in the public domain.

additional media

Submissions may be accompanied by any or all of the following:

  • a short video file or files or a link to a video sharing site. The maximum cumulative length of 5f minutes for any video(s),
  • links to additional material, such as a demo of the programme or product,
  • slides or static screen displays (maximum of 12).

Please ensure you have read the terms and conditions relating to the use of additional media.

acknowledgement

We will acknowledge every submission by email as soon as possible.

Please be aware that we receive an extremely high volume of submissions as the deadline nears so acknowledgements may be slightly delayed for this reason.

If you have not received any acknowledgement from us by 11.00 am BST on 5 August 2019 then please ensure you check the email contact details given to us at the entry registration stage. Please also check the spam folders for this email account.

If, having checked these routes, you cannot find any acknowledgement or correspondence then please contact us immediately on +44 (0) 118 380 0350.

It is your responsibility to keep us updated if any contact details change at any time during the awards process.
