AI Just Gave Every Worker Their Own Expert. Are You Ready for That?

For most of human history, people learned through apprenticeship — theory and practice inseparable, under the eye of an expert. Mass education forced a compromise that corporate learning inherited wholesale: separate the two, replace doing with telling. The gap between "trained" and "competent" is still where mistakes, turnover, and catastrophes happen. We just accepted it. Until now.
Daniel Pires, Director of Design at NIIT, shows what AI-powered apprenticeship at scale looks like in practice — and makes the case that this is not a vision deck. The technology is here, it's working, and learning as we know it is about to change completely.
- The gap between "trained" and "competent" is not a content problem — it is a structural flaw inherited from mass education that AI can now eliminate.
- AI-powered simulations and personal coaching are no longer prototypes: complex, fully functional learning experiences can be built from idea to deployment in hours, not months.
- Every worker will have a dedicated AI coach that knows them, adapts to them, and takes responsibility for their performance — the only question is whether your organization is ready to deliver that.
