Podcasts for Compliance: An Innovative Approach to Mandatory Training
Compliance training doesn't really have the best reputation for being engaging. Everybody kind of groans when you mention it, and most L&D teams know that people are just clicking through it as fast as possible to get to the end. So we tried something different. This session is about what we actually learned from building an audio-first compliance library. What worked, what we had to rethink, and why taking a conversational approach changed how we thought about compliance learning altogether. We'll talk through how we structured content so it feels relevant to people in their day to day, how we worked with real subject matter experts to bring topics to life, and what the process of getting that balance right actually looks like. If you want to find out more about podcast-style learning, or just trying to create compliance content that people genuinely engage with rather than rush through, we've probably made most of the mistakes so you don't have to.
- Explain why focusing on real situations and scenarios works better than legislation-heavy content for compliance learning
- Identify the structural and editorial decisions that make audio learning work for both learners and organisations
- Apply practical techniques for scripting, chunking and pacing audio content
