University of Cambridge Online: Creativity and Problem Solving
Award Category: Best use of social and collaborative learning technologies --
Improving creativity through metacognition is a tall order in a largely asynchronous online learning experience, but interaction between peers can go a long way towards making the experience both engaging and insightful. It’s also a key element in understanding and practicing ‘thinking skills’: enabling ourselves to discard well-worn and self-limiting patterns of thinking that prevent us from reaching for truly novel and useful ideas.
This interactive presentation will explore the social learning technologies utilised by the Cambridge Advance Online team in their course ‘Creativity, Problem Solving and Design Thinking’, which won the 2026 Learning Technologies Gold award for Best Use of Social and Collaborative Learning Technologies.
