The Skills Perception Gap
In this session we’re delving into part 3 of Kineo’s learning Insights research: The Global Learning Race. We asked over 6,500 employees and 1,300 employers worldwide about their skills needs, gaps and opportunities, focusing on the intentions or organisations to invest in learning, and whether employees understand how that learning is tied to individual and organisational success. The findings highlighted some interesting differences between employer and employee perceptions in some key areas, why is it for example that 81% of employers say they have the staff they need for the next 3-5 years, yet 33% of employees say they do not agree that their employers are keeping up with the pace of change? The session will dig into some of the details of the research findings and offer our thoughts about what these gaps tell us and what the potential implications are if we are to ensure that learning design and delivery meets both employer and employee needs.
