T5S2 - AI & Lifelong learning
Lifelong learning has been a subject of debate for over 50 years. Yet nowadays, this topic has become imperative for both individuals and companies. What has happened in the world that has made the ability to learn the number one skill for the future? And how has the growing use of AI further driven this need? This session will present pathways for individuals to guide their own learning process and for L&D leaders to support them on their journey.
Lifelong Learning: Now is the Time
Following the pandemic, the world of L&D has changed dramatically. While the importance of having lifelong learners in our organizations has never been clearer, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get people to engage with our learning offerings.
Lifelong learning, a long-held societal aspiration, is finally being implemented on a global scale, driven by accelerated technology development. The recent global adoption of AI tools, such as ChatGPT, creates both opportunities and challenges for learners and organizations.
In this session, we will explore the real reasons why autonomous learning isn't happening within organizations—or at least not as much as we would like. We will present practical approaches to developing self-directed learning journeys, transforming learning cultures and using AI tools as part of a process that fosters autonomy, motivation, and results.
- Why Lifelong and Lifewide learning is crucial in times of AI
- How to create self-directed learning journeys (and why Corporate Universities are not helping)
- Why every L&D professional must be a lifelong learner
- Learning culture as a catalyst for autonomous learning
