Reframing L&D as a Business Problem-Solving Function - Kenny Komoko
In many organizations, learning teams are still organized around programs, expertise, and requests—while the business is navigating constant change, unclear priorities, and emerging challenges that don’t fit neatly into training solutions.
In this session, Kenny Temowo shares a strategic perspective on enablement as a business-facing, problem-solving discipline. Drawing on experience in high-growth, startup-like environments, he explores how shifting from a “learning needs” lens to a “business obstacles” lens fundamentally changes how teams prioritize work, partner across functions, and measure impact.
Rather than positioning enablement as a new label for L&D, this session examines how enablement shows up in practice: embedding closer to the work, focusing on moments of transition and friction, and working cross-functionally to remove barriers to performance. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how this mindset applies even when influence, resources, or structural control are limited—and why simply seeing the work differently can be a powerful first step.
Key Topics Include:
- What distinguishes enablement from traditional learning and development
- Shifting from learning needs to business and performance obstacles
- Enablement in fast-moving, high-growth organizations
- Working cross-functionally to support performance at the point of work
- Rethinking L&D and People team operating models through an enablement lens
