Association for Specialist Fire Protection

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is a trade association representing its membership in the passive fire protection sector of the construction industry.

Historically, the association has provided classroom training in support of two Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) OFQUAL backed qualifications.

The ASFP is a not-for-profit trade association with limited resources, Phil Brownhill (ASFP Head of Training) has always taken personal responsibility for his own professional development and for fulfilment of strategic projects, and recognised that the advent of the COVID 19 crisis made the adoption of elearning a pressing and urgent priority.

This development work towards the launch of a new and unique package of learning is the subject of this submittal.

Gareth Compton
South Eastern Regional College

Gareth’s work has enabled the integrated digital systems, college strategy and teaching methodologies to work in synchronisation and effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. 

The scope of the work in which Gareth is involved, means that he is constantly upskilling, looking for effective and efficient ways to progress projects as well creating innovative and customised solutions by identifying the correct tools and techniques.  

Gareth has sought to ensure seamless integration of platforms as well as data reporting.  His work is very much needs driven, meaning an agile response is necessary.  

Richard Pipe
First Media

Richard Pipe has been a valued, long-standing member of the First Media team for over 10 years and is always highly involved with all eLearning projects. He is always present during initial project meetings and is not only quick to grasp the requirements of the client, but also develops innovative concepts to take projects to the next level.

Working closely with other members of the First Media team, Richard develops eLearning content that is engaging and exceeds the expectations of our clients. Helping to turn their visions into reality.

Ronnie Wilson-Miller
Learning Pool

Ronnie has helped drive learning development at Learning Pool to new and exciting places over the last five years. Combining a deep understanding of learning design with an ability to move seamlessly between authoring tools, media formats and design techniques, he is so much more than just a learning developer.

Leading on flagship projects for the likes of Lidl, Merck, Sky, International Rescue Committee and Learning Pool’s very own Future Skills collection, Ronnie brings innovation and creativity to everything he does.

This extends beyond his project work where Ronnie has played a crucial role in the development of the Learning Pool Design team. Through the coaching and mentoring of team members in the UK and Europe, he has helped raise the bar across the organisation’s content offering.

Megan A. Yawor
Rapid7

Megan’s new role, customer base, and industry required her to embark on a new way of thinking about design. Despite the immense learning curve, she quickly gained the expertise needed to clarify customers' needs and explored new methods and technologies resulting in creative, impactful, and aligned solutions. Her strong growth mindset, customer-first attitude, and ability to turn concepts into engaging experiences positively impact all of Rapid7. Megan’s perspective raises the bar for our learners and her innovation and adaptability defines new ‘best practices.’  Her work ethic is truly inspiring and encourages others to bring their best.
