Michael Ng Chwee Woei is the Manager (Mechanical Engineering) under the School of Engineering at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central, Singapore. He brings over 15 years of industry experience, having served in specialised roles as a Senior Automation Engineer and Project Engineer in the manufacturing sector. His professional expertise lies in industrial machine design and control systems . In addition to his departmental leadership role, Michael currently serves as the AI Lead for the School of Engineering, where he drives and supports the school’s AI transformation agenda. In this capacity, he oversees AI training and capability development, AI knowledge transfer, AI project implementation, and industry collaboration, ensuring that AI is meaningfully integrated into teaching, learning, and applied innovation across engineering disciplines. At ITE, Michael is deeply committed to nurturing students to think creatively, embrace innovation, and take bold ownership of new challenges. He believes strongly in the importance of character development, emphasising humility, continuous learning, and strong values as the foundation for students’ long-term success. He advocates that technical competence, when coupled with character and purpose, equips graduates to serve society and the nation meaningfully.
