Ruth has worked at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) for over 30 years and manages the national team of teachers and trainers. The team supports professional training and development for NHSBT staff and delivers scientific and medical education programmes for scientists and doctors across the NHS and internationally. In addition, Ruth leads the delivery of the MSc in Applied Transfusion and Transplantation Science. Originally trained as a scientist, Ruth spent eight years in research at the University of Bristol before joining NHSBT. Passionate about education and finding innovative ways to enhance the delivery of education, Ruth enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience to support the development of the current and future workforce.
