Head of UEFA Academy, UEFA
Thomas joined UEFA in 2007 with the mission to make the European football governing body interact more with the academic community. In 2019, he was appointed as head of the UEFA Academy which is the new home for all the UEFA’s educational learning initiatives. The UEFA Academy seeks to inspire the education of individuals and organisations to continuously elevate the game of football. It currently offers over fifteen education programmes worldwide. Thomas has been an external lecturer in strategy of sports organisations at the University of Lausanne. Before joining UEFA, he was an advisor on economic affairs to members of the Swiss parliament, and a sports reporter for newspaper and radio stations in Switzerland. He also worked as a chief coordinator at the International Olympic Academy.
