Session overview
Tools and technologies: sharing session
What we know together surpasses what any of us can know individually. That's the point of this session. Here we come together to share experiences, hot tips and concerns with our colleagues in the room and - thanks to the Learning and Skills Group online community - with many more outside it. How are people using the vast range of learning tools available to us? If you are an L&D practitioner with something to say, come and say it. Everyone will have the right to take the floor for a minute to share a thought or solicit the audience's help. This is social learning in action.
P1: Collaboration tools
Jane Hart, Social Learning Consultant, Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies
- Great examples of collaborative tools in use
-
Tales of how to overcome managerial resistance
-
Useful resources that others can share
P2: Innovation with existing tools
Design & Development Consultant, RBS Insurance
Innovation doesn't have to mean working with the latest gadget. We all have tools in our kit bags that are under-used, and sometimes extra functionality can be found in the most unlikely places. Getting more from what you've already got makes plenty of sense, especially in a recession. Please come with:
- Smart tricks that make normal office products shine
-
Extraordinary uses for ordinary e-learning software
-
Case studies and examples that we can access on the web
P3: Succeeding together
Clive Rawson, Curriculum Developer, MOD
This part of the session is open season! If you've got something good you want to share, or a problem you'd like answered, bring it along. The aim is to learn from - and help - each other, and anything goes. Whether you're looking for technical assistance or a second opinion come along. Questions (and answers) may include:
- What authoring tools are others planning on using in 2010?
- How are others managing setting up live online training programmes?
- Who wants to form a support group for training on Office 2010?
