conference tracks

Track 1
You will find the most popular sessions of the conference in the auditorium. This being the Learning Technologies Conference, that means you can expect to see the major sessions about new technology here. But it's not all about tech. Expect to find other provocative issues here too: the way we learn, the future role of instructional design, and lessons we can learn from the successes and failures of L&D in large companies.

Track 2
Tracks 2 and 3 explore good practice in learning and development through overview presentations, case studies and discussion. This track features issues as wide ranging as running major projects and embedding learning in the organisation and as detailed as how to create video and content design methodologies.

Track 3
Like track 2, track 3 explores the practical issues facing organisational learning and development, including adaptive learning, 70:20:10, learning management systems and a practical exploration of how L&D can market its services more effectively.. Expect plenty of discussion as we drill into these issues.

Track 4
Sessions on this track are designed to provide an hour's interactive examination of one practical topic for a learning and development professional. We begin with putting learners in the right state to learn, and go on to content development, performance support and the role of emotion in learning.

Track 5
There's something here for everyone. This is the place where we really like to think, be provocative and consider things that haven't been dealt with necessarily at the conference before. Visit the track and check out a session or two. Who knows, next year, that topic could be in the auditorium!

Google hangouts
This year’s conference includes a ‘Google hangout’ room on top of the five tracks that form the regular programme. This is our Google Hangout room, where sessions will run parallel to the scheduled programme. The aim: to discuss topics that have come up during the course of the conference and explore them in more detail.

There will be speakers, and a chair, but the emphasis will be on informal discussion with those in the room, and with our wider community on-line.
