T4S4 - Learning personalisation
This session explores the use of adaptive learning and career pathways to foster learning success. The benefits of personalizing learning delivery include improving retention, and faster speeds to competency demonstration – but how do you get there? We’ll explore two very different approaches in this session – both relying on technology, and each needing its own change journey.
Fostering learning success through career pathways and adaptive delivery
In learning, motivation is everything. The most engaging content and the best platforms are useless if an individual doesn’t care about what they are learning. And a huge part of that motivation is ensuring that a person is asked to learn something right for them.
This session looks at two ways of ensuring that individual fit to learning. The first is by making sure that learning is not seen as imposed, but rather is valued by individuals as useful. We’ll look at doing this via career pathways – but this is not something given to an individual and then forgotten, but an active, long-term commitment to content, regular coaching conversations with managers, and change, all along an agreed pathway.
The other approach to personalisation is in adaptive delivery – ensuring that each individual receives the content they need, in the way they need it, with delivery adapting each step of the way, to ensure effective learning.
