Dmytro Voloshyn is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Preply, guiding the company's technological vision to revolutionise online language learning.
Dmytro, fueled by his interest in artificial intelligence and predictive modeling, embedded these technologies within the business from day one. Whilst the company has used machine learning algorithms to make student-tutor matches since inception ten years ago, more recently Dmytro has been responsible for the company’s industry leading AI developments. In 2023, Preply announced the introduction of an AI assistant for its 40,000 strong tutor population. Preply now has over 600 employees of 60 nationalities and has raised over $170 million since inception.
Originally from Ukraine, Dmytro's journey in technology began with an early interest in coding, starting his career as a software developer before transitioning to entrepreneurial pursuits.
Dmytro holds a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and studied for a doctorate in machine learning and AI before co-founding Preply. He resides in Barcelona, Spain.
