conference

Congratulations, Learning Technologies, you’re 21 years old! This year, the event also celebrates our second year in the new, modern venue of ExCeL in London's Docklands. Running on February 12th and 13th, Learning Technologies is Europe's leading conference dedicated to organisational learning and the technology that supports it. And don’t forget: on February 11th we’ll be running a full day of L&D workshops for the first time!

With over 30 conference sessions and more than 70 selected speakers and facilitators, Learning Technologies aims to provide inspiration, information and provocation. The aim is that on the Friday after the conference, you’ll be ready to tackle some of the key L&D issues you’re currently facing, fuelled by what you’ve learned, and supported by a new network of colleagues.

As well as the customary emphasis on interactivity during sessions, we’ll be adding new networking opportunities, giving you to chance to share with, and learn from, over 700 fellow learning and development professionals.

And during the sessions themselves, we’ll explore the latest technologies and methodologies, but also examine how familiar, mature approaches to organisational learning work. So expect video to rub shoulders with AI and for us to investigate marketing, engagement and buy-in as thoroughly as we do virtual reality and xAPI.

Programme

Expect the spotlight to fall on the most exciting tools and technologies transforming learning today, including AI, predictive analytics and virtual reality. We'll also look more broadly at learning design, the role of L&D and functional areas such as onboarding and compliance. Join us to be inspired, network and return to work a better informed Learning and Development professional.

conference tracks

Track 1
This track shines the spotlight on today’s most exciting technologies and trends. We’ll have an overview of emerging learning technologies, then drill down into learning ecosystems, xAPI, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. We’ll take a critical look at these, going well beyond the gloss of the new.

Track 2
You’ll find all the big issues in Learning and Development here: workflow learning, building a modern learning environment, self-directed learning, digital transformation and the fundamental role of the mind in learning. Expect a close discussion of these topics by high-quality speakers.

Track 3
Here, we focus on the tactical issues facing L&D: the perennial issue of showing impact, the question of understanding and using learning analytics, games and the role of technology in supporting coaching. We can’t do great work in L&D without truly understanding the subjects on Track 3.

Track 4
Sessions on this track are all about content, whether we’re looking at video, design methodologies, content development, writing techniques, performance support content or storytelling. This track will help you create compelling, high-impact content.

Track 5
This track explores the detail of implementing technologies. How do you market your learning programmes, and ensure stakeholder buy-in, to ensure learner engagement? What are the best ways of ensuring your onboarding and compliance training works? And finally, how can make all this work world-wide?
