The Future of learning transfer
Robert Terry, Founder, The Kite Foundation
Every year organisations waste over £500bn on training that has no impact on the way people do their work.
The underlying causes of the ‘learning transfer problem’ are well understood but practitioners have been slow to adopt remedies proposed by academics and each year the mountain of waste gets bigger while the patience of those who control the purse-strings grows ever thinner.
In 2010 Robert Terry Chairman of think-tank, The Kite Foundation, completed the first national survey of learning transfer practice. His subsequent report yielded powerful new insights into practitioner behaviour that challenged outmoded thinking and called for new more effective techniques.
In this seminar, Terry will examine preliminary results from the 2012 survey and propose new solutions that will enable practitioners to dramatically improve the return on their training investments. This is essential viewing for all L&D practitioners who care deeply that their training interventions deliver real improvements in workplace performance.
