Bridging the e-learning skills gap
Clive Shepherd, Chair, eLearning Network
The Towards Maturity 2008 survey showed how e-learning is progressing in terms of usage in the UK. It also demonstrated just how much organisations are being held back because of a lack of skills and knowledge relating to e-learning. In this session, Clive will describe the areas in which skills are most needed, notably strategic management, curriculum development, content creation and facilitation.
He will go on to discuss the various steps that organisations can take to bridge the skills gap.
- What skills are crucial to success in e-learning?
- Who needs these skills and why?
- Finding the right balance between generalists and specialists
- Identifying the skills gap in your organisation
- Finding the right blend of formal and informal resources to bridge the gap
