The podcast has returned with a vengeance in recent years, thanks to the increased simplicity of producing and distributing audio files. But how do you make them straight-forward to create, and – above all – useful for the listener? That’s the real trick, and it’s a secret that Andrew Jacobs is all too happy to share in this session, along with his special guests.

The art and technique of creating valuable podcasts: from concept through production to distribution

Anyone can create a podcast – and that’s exactly the problem. Just because it’s easy to record an interview, doesn’t mean that the interview is worth listening to. In this session Andrew Jacobs, host of the Women Talking About Learning podcast, goes through the whole process. He’ll cover everything, from deciding on topics to choosing guests and framing questions for them, to editing the result, fit for distribution. Then he and his guests will record an episode live, with contributions from the audience.

  • Planning your podcast - the essentials, from the narrative and content, to structure and naming
  • The kit and the software: what do REALLY you need?
  • Techniques for successful podcast interviews
  • Focusing on the audience – knowing your topic and how to add more value
