Branching Scenarios to Address Specific Needs

Branching Scenarios to Address Specific Needs

13 Feb 2020
Theatre 11

“Using branching scenarios to create risk-free environments for people to practice their skills and see the consequences of their decisions or actions.”

We will use a case study to show how scenarios enable learners to apply concepts in real life situations and how they promote deep learning and the appreciation of differing perspectives.

In this case study, employees could perfectly identify first aid key concepts. However, when an accident took place, they didn’t know what to do or how to put into practice the theory they were familiar with. The company needed a solution that would help their employees deal with these daily situations and how to make life-and-death decisions while still providing them with a safe place to hone their skills.

Feedback was built in a way that the consequences of learners’ decisions were highlighted. This feature will allow us to explore the difference between the “telling feedback” and the “showing feedback”.
