Inclusion: moving beyond box ticking to truly inclusive Integration
The key to engaging and successful learning design is the understanding of your audience. But how well do you really know them? Our employees are our greatest competitive strength, yet little time is spent beyond statistics getting to really know them. In today's modern world it is estimated that up to 30-40% of the population is neurodiverse. Neurodiversity includes, but isn't limited to; ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, autism, hyperthymesia, and savant syndrome. And yet even with this highly diverse population, L&D systems are predominantly built with neurotypicals in mind. Building an L&D environment that is accessible for neurodiverse people is not only beneficial to everyone, but is at the heart of inclusion.
In this presentation, Dr Hannah Gore will explore the importance of L&D professionals understanding the key engagement factors of neurodiverse people in relation to how they approach learning and development in the workplace, with and how professionals can champion an all-inclusive approach towards onboarding, training and development, learning communities, and the future workplace to truly integrate this truly creative and competitively advantageous workforce.
